First time visiting your newsletter and I must say that your "into college football warning" strikes me as a very smart idea.

I can relate to your feelings about introversion and people interactions. I wasn't much of a socialite pre COVID and I'm maintaining a significant level of hermitage (?) thanks to WFH. It's a choice but not one I'm inclined to change at present.

One minor point: the actual title of the book you're reading is 4000 Weeks and it's a good one, though perhaps not optimized for skimming.

I look forward to reading more of your newsletters!

Whoops! Off by an order of magnitude 😬 thanks for pointing that out.

Trying to find the right balance between community and friends and hermitage has been challenging! Thanks for the comment, and welcome!

Hi Jean, you mentioned yearning for nourishing soups.... You probably know about this, but just in case, check out Three Stone Hearth (full disclosure: I'm a worker-owner there).

Thank you!! I live quite close but haven’t tried it out. My partner is on a mostly low fodmap diet so store-bought broths are usually problematic (garlic/onions). But I will plan to check it out for myself :)

Oh, our broth is plain, just a splash of apple cider vinegar to help the minerals release from the bones, but no salt, no veg, no alliums. We haven't adapted our dishes to the fodmap diet, though we want to work on that -- getting rid of garlic and onions is a challenge, but I know there are a lot of resources out there.

Anyway, if you come in, let me know, I'd love to show you around and share some tales of our organizational development -- we adopted Holacracy early on in 2013, never fully developed our practice, and I think we're on the verge of officially giving it up.
