Creating Space: A 6-Week Journaling Course
Announcing a journaling course in collaboration with Buster Benson at 750 Words — designed to help you step back, breathe, and reconnect with what truly matters. Join us!
Not that long ago, my life was a blur of daycare drop-offs, long commutes, back-to-back meetings, and bedtime scrambles. Every inch of my time and energy was spoken for, and any spare moments were spent recovering before the cycle started all over again. I told myself that if I ever found something I truly wanted to pursue — a job change, a personal project, a hobby — I’d ask for space to do it.
But I didn’t even know what to ask for.
Looking back, I see that I had built a life where there was no room for possibilities, no space for my subconscious to consider what might be. The things I really wanted — new ideas, meaningful work, creative projects — were buried under the immediate demands of just getting through the day.
Around that time, I started journaling regularly. Inspired by The Artist’s Way, I began writing “morning pages,” 3 pages (or about 750 words) of daily journaling.
I loved the practice of private journaling and the mindset that creativity could flow freely instead of being a scarce resource, although the more religious and spiritual aspects of the program did not appeal to me. Making that space to write daily nudged me out of a scarcity mindset and into a place where things started to feel more open, more interesting, more possible.
After leaving my last startup last October, I’ve been juggling the constant demands of three kids (including a 1 year old), figuring out what’s next work-wise, and trying to navigate news consumption with the external world on fire.
During this period of sometimes (ok, often!) feeling untethered and overwhelmed, I turned to journaling yet again and have been using 750 Words as a writing tool. 750 Words has been a game-changer for me in helping me to show up and prioritize space for myself to process what’s going on, tap into what I really want, and think creatively about how to make it a reality.
I’ve also successfully befriended Buster Benson of 750 Words, and we’re excited to share an expansive and joyful offering: Creating Space, a 6-week guided journaling course.
What Creating Space is
Creating Space is a 6-week self-paced journaling course designed to help you step back, breathe, and reconnect with what truly matters. Through thoughtful journaling prompts, reflection exercises, and a structured yet flexible approach, we’ve designed this course to give you space to explore new ideas, gain clarity, and discover what’s next for you.
The course includes:
✅ Weekly themes to help you explore different aspects of space—time, energy, finances, and more
✅ Daily journaling prompts to guide your reflections
✅ A 3-month subscription to 750 Words (a private journaling platform)
✅ Lightweight community support (optional but available if you want it!)
You don’t need to be a writer or a clear destination. The course is intended to provide gentle support and accountability on your journey of creating space to figure out what you want and then doing the work to make it happen. We’d love for you to join us!
